Last night the Gainesville Light Brigade stood at the corner of University Ave and 34th Street to draw attention for the March Against Monsanto on May 25. Scott and I were glad to lend a hand in support and today at 2pm we march to ask #monsanto to label their work as GMO and stop hiding behind the veil of deception.
Monsanto protest tomorrow. Clean, noncancerous food should be easy to identify from the GMO alternatives. China is burning our corn imports. Countries are banning Monsanto from their shelves and fields. #monsanto #nogmo
Wall mural by Destiny. She’s feeling the artistic flow again, she says. She was inspired to streamline her room from gamer den to art studio in a day. From note cards, sketchbooks to murals she’s growing artistically and pursuing new skills. Our home is our lab. The world is our classroom. Shine on, baby.
My son, Sage AKA Grey Wolf met a wolf pup while we were out shopping. The pup is a representative for a local sanctuary that he will be working for next spring. Sage is really looking forward to the opportunity. It’ll be hard work, digging trenches, cleaning, etc. You can see the future in his eyes. He’s thrilled to find an opportunity that offers him the chance to protect a species, educate, use his strengths, spend time watching wolves and socializing pups.
I had a weekday off. Damn, it feels good to get some mom stuff worked out in time for the weekend. Work hard to play hard. Priorities, check!
Our bedroom expansion project is complete. We’ve used mostly recycled materials and have only spent $125. I love my new wood router and I’m glad that we found yet another use for the marble that we salvaged from a dumpster at a job site. The dimensions of the box came from the glass that we procured from a Craigslist listing from a broken pawn shop display case. Thanks baby for going through with all of my crazy ideas for making it completely functional for us. You all can’t see the woofer box we built into the platform of the bed.
